It happened just after 11 p.m. on Lincoln Street, where people called 911 when a man was shot inside a car, police said. Paramedics rushed him to the Salem Hospital, but doctors could not save his life.
Authorities are not releasing his name until they can make the proper notifications.
The man is at least the eighth person to be shot in Lynn over the long Labor Day weekend.
A 25-year-old man was killed, and six others were wounded — two critically — in an early morning Saturday shooting at a house party in Lynn. They were celebrating someone leaving for college, reports said.
Abraham Diaz was identified as the person killed by his brother Bryan Diaz, who created a GoFundMe in Abraham's name. He's raised more than $13,000 as of 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Lynn police have not released much on the attack, but Lynn Police Chief Chris Reddy promised results.
Detectives ask anyone with information about either shooting to contact Lynn police at 781-595-2000.
